Select Ingredients

Parmesan Pork Loin Ingredients: pork loin, shredded parmesan, soy sauce, dried basil, olive oil, garlic, and honey
  • Pork Loin - Choose one that's lean with minimal visible fat for the best texture. A 2 pound roast works perfectly for most slow cookers. If you go with a slightly small pork loin, you can reduce the glaze if you'd like!
  • Shredded Parmesan - My top tip... grate your own from a block instead of using pre-grated cheese. Freshly shredded Parmesan melts more smoothly and gives the sauce a richer, creamier taste which, in my opinion, is totally worth the extra minute!

Recipe Tips & Variations

➡️ Don't Overcook - Every slow cooker is different! Start checking your pork loin around the 5-hour mark on low. It should be fork-tender but not dry.

➡️ Add Herbs for Extra Flavor: - Fresh rosemary and thyme pair beautifully with Parmesan and pork and the basil that's already in the glaze.

How To Make This Parmesan Pork Loin

Step 1: In a small mixing bowl, mix parmesan, honey, soy sauce, basil, garlic and olive oil.

Step 2: Stir ingredients well until fully blended.

Step 3: Pat the pork loin dry with paper towels and season with salt. Place in slow cooker.

Step 4: Pour the parmesan mixture evenly over top of pork loin, using a spatula to coat all sides. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours until pork is fork-tender and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.

Recipe FAQs

Can I use pork tenderloin instead of pork loin in the slow cooker?

Sure! Just remember, the texture will be a bit different. Pork tenderloin cooks faster and is leaner, so you'll want to reduce the cooking time to avoid drying it out.

How long does pork loin take in the slow cooker?

On low, about 6-7 hours is perfect for a 2-3 pound pork loin. On high, it's usually ready in 3-4 hours. Remember though, a pork tenderloin will cook faster and likely take only 5 hours in the slow cooker.

How should I store Parmesan Pork Loin leftovers?

Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or on the stove with a splash of broth to keep it moist.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb Pork loin
  • cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • ½ cup Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 ½ tablespoon Basil dried
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the grated Parmesan, honey, soy sauce, dried basil, minced garlic, and olive oil. Stir well until fully blended.
  • Pat the pork loin dry with paper towels and season all over with ½ teaspoon salt. For a lower sodium option, you can skip the salt as the other ingredients contain salt.
  • Place the pork loin in the bottom of your slow cooker. Pour the Parmesan mixture evenly over the top, using a spoon or spatula to coat all sides.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, or until the pork is fork-tender and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). You may want to check it around 5 hours for a smaller pork loin or tenderloin.
  • Once cooked, remove the pork loin and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Spoon some of the cooking juices over the top for extra flavor.

Notes

Nutrition Disclaimer: Nutrition facts are estimates and may vary by ingredients, brands, and portion sizes. Use them as a general guide, not a guarantee.
Pork Temperature: Pork is perfectly cooked when it reaches 145°F internally. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing for the juiciest results.
Pork Loin vs. Tenderloin: This recipe uses pork loin, not tenderloin. However, if you'd like to use a tenderloin, remember it is smaller and cooks faster so simply shorten the cook time.
Parmesan Tip: I always recommend shredding your Parmesan fresh from a block! Pre-grated cheese doesn’t melt as well and can make the sauce grainy.
