Recipe FAQs

Can I make these pork chops in the oven instead of an air fryer?

Yes! Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the breaded pork chops on a greased baking sheet for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through.

How do I make the pork chops extra crispy?

Pat the pork chops dry before breading and spray a light layer of oil on the coating before air frying. Don't overcrowd the basket... the air needs to circulate for maximum crispiness.

What can I serve with crispy parmesan pork chops?

They pair perfectly with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, a fresh salad, or even simple garlic butter green beans.

Ingredients

  • 4 thin pork chops
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup Panko bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese grated
  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ¼ teaspoon oregano

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees. Trim excess fat off pork chops and salt and pepper them to taste.
  • Add flour to one bowl, the egg to a second bowl, and the panko, parmesan, garlic powder, basil, and oregano to a third bowl.
  • Beat the egg in one dish. In the breading dish, mix the panko mixture well.
  • Dip both sides of the pork chops into the flour, then the egg, then the panko mixture. Lightly spray with an olive oil or cooking spray to help them crisp.
  • Place the pork chops single layered in the air fryer. If you make more than 3-4 chops, you may need to split them up for space as they should not be layered.
  • Once in air fryer, cook for 8 minutes, then flip, and cook for an additional 8 minutes on the other side or until pork chops are crispy and internal temperature has reached 145 degrees F.

Nutrition Disclaimer: Nutrition facts are estimates and may vary by ingredients, brands, and portion sizes. Use them as a general guide, not a guarantee.
Pork Chop Thickness Matters: For best results, use pork chops that are about 1-inch thick. Thinner chops may cook too quickly and dry out, while thicker chops may need extra air frying time.
Air Fryer Tips: Don’t overcrowd the basket; leave space for air circulation. Flip halfway through cooking for an even golden crust.
Oven Option: Can’t use an air fryer? Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, flipping once, until cooked through and crispy.
